Vision

Mission
Nurturing critical thinkers and problem solvers with a passion for Mathematics
Secondary Mathematics Curriculum
The goals of the secondary mathematics education are:
- to ensure that all students will achieve a level of mastery of mathematics that will enable them to function effectively in everyday life; and
- for those who have the interest and ability, to learn more mathematics so that they can pursue mathematics or mathematics-related courses of study in the next stage of education.

Mathematics at AMKSS emphasizes authentic learning experiences that connect theory with real-world applications. Lessons are designed to encourage exploration, discovery, and purposeful problem-solving, instilling joy in learning and nurturing enthusiasm for mathematical thinking. This approach enhances students’ critical and inventive thinking, communication, collaboration, and information literacy. Through Computational Thinking Enrichment in the lower and middle secondary levels, students learn to represent and solve problems using Flowgorithm programming. Participation in external competitions such as the Australian Mathematics Competition and the Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad provides opportunities to stretch their problemsolving abilities and develop higher-order thinking skills.
