AMKSS Red Cross is a Uniformed Group that promotes discipline and teamwork.
We aim to inculcate seven fundamental principles, namely, Humanity,
Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity, and
Universality in all our cadets.
The Red Cross Youth Unit trains in six core subjects: Red Cross Knowledge,
First Aid, Disaster Management, Youth Ambassador Blood Programme, Service
Learning, and Youth Leadership. AMKSS Red Cross Youth also does its part
in raising funds for the Red Cross Youth Society by carrying out community
service projects and fundraising activities.
Every one of our cadets is given ample opportunities to participate in
various activities, and can expect to take part in a wide variety of events. For
example, our cadets participate in competitions such as the annual First Aid
Championships that put their skills to the test. We also send our cadets for
leadership camps like the Unit Specialist’ Programme, Unit Leader Programme,
and the Red Cross Youth Challenge which help to build their confidence as
well as strengthen leadership abilities.
Other than competitions and leadership camps, our cadets are also able to
participate in the school’s National Day Parade, National Camp, and Cadet
Modular Workshops to help them gain more experience and bond with
members of other Red Cross Youth Units and other Uniformed Groups. Such
events allow for cadets to showcase their skills, foster camaraderie, and
deepen their understanding of Red Cross principles.
Our Red Cross Youth members are also trained to become confident and
competent leaders with a strong sense of responsibility, whilst gaining valuable
life skills which can aid them both in school and beyond. Each cadet is trained
to react well during emergencies or when in stressful situations by utilising the
knowledge and skills they have learnt in Red Cross Youth. AMKSS Red Cross
Youth strives to make our cadets strong and well-rounded individuals, with a
strong sense of discipline and leadership.
